FRequently Asked Questions
HOW LONG DOES THE TRAIL TAKE? The trail itself takes about 45 minutes to one hour to complete once you're out there ... unless you tap out because you're a wimp. Some do.
WHERE DO I PARK? For the 2024 season parking will be offsite. ALL GUEST should drive and park at John Pettibone Community Center, 2 Pickett District Rd, New Milford, CT 06776. Buses will transport you to and from the event. This includes people getting dropped off.
WILL THERE BE CONCESSIONS? Snacks will be available for purchase while you wait in line. Additional refreshments will be available at the end of the trail, so bring a couple bucks for a snack. There will also be merchandise available at the end of the trail and all proceeds will go to supporting all of the listed benefactors of the event.
ARE THERE DISCOUNTS OR GROUP RATES? Like past years, we ARE offering group rates. If you have a group of 10 or more, the price drops to $20/person. Score! If you have a group of 20 or more, please make sure to call the park office at 860.799.6520 to schedule a "best time" for arrival. The group rate is ONLY available online and will not be accepted at the gate
HEALTH CONCERNS This is a trail in the woods and is not presented as accessible for all if they cannot walk the trail's distance of about 1 mile. Additionally this event uses special effects, fog/smoke, strobing lights, loud music and sound effects. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or any other medical, physical or emotional concerns that could be intensified by these, we do not recommend this event for you.
IS THIS EVENT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN? This event is NOT for children under 12. If you bring a small child and they are too scared, our actors will not stop and you will not be refunded. "Don't scare my kid" will not be recognized, as you were forewarned.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? CAN I WEAR A COSTUME?As we've mentioned this an outdoor event, so we recommend you dress according to the temperature, which tends to be chilly. We also recommend sensible footwear - if we've had a lot of rain in the days before the trail it can get muddy. We ask that you do not wear a full costume, as you may be mistaken for a actor on the trail. Masks are strictly prohbited. Otherwise you're welcome to dress festively.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER? On occasion we've had to cancel a night due to bad weather. If you have bought tickets for a night and the weather looks questionable, please check our social media pages to get updates about cancellations, delays, etc. If the night you bought tickets for is cancelled, you can use your ticket on any other of the available nights with no issue.
HAS ANYONE EVER PEED THEIR PANTS? Yes! In fact we make it our goal, so you may want to bring an extra pair of pants if you have a weak bladder.
